15 Month Update

We have been very busy these days!! The holiday season this year was busy and so much fun. We spent a lot of time with family & friends, but we also worked on creating traditions of our own. It was a very special time in our little family and our little treasure brought us a lot of joy.

The holiday season wasn’t without a few mishaps. We had our first trip to the emergency room when Alison got a finger crushed in a bedroom door. She had a chip fracture & stitches were required, but she is healing great and the nail will hopefully regrow completely in 6 months. We also had plenty of tumbles & bruises, but I hear that’s all part of raising a toddler. I’m trying to get used to it. :)

Each day, Alison is revealing more of her personality and preferences. We have quickly learned the difference between a real and a fake cry, what food she likes/dislikes and that tickling is the best form of distraction. She is transitioning into 1 nap a day, which has freed up our schedule for longer play dates and errands. Her most commonly used words are bye-bye, cracker, mama, dada, G-pa, papa, all d (all done), buh-buh (baby) peez (please) & some animal noises. Her favorite word is “Hi” and she says it with such enthusiasm that it always makes us smile.

13 month update

This little girl is always on the move! She has been walking since shortly after her 1st birthday. Her latest thing is to point at things for me to say what they are. She also gives hugs and kisses, but squirms if we hold her too long. She is not much of a snuggler and would much rather be moving and exploring the house. Some of her favorite things to do are puzzles, books, playing with her tea set & unstacking anything! She loves kids that are a year or 2 older than her and totally ignores babies. She’s so much more independent now that she’s walking and it’s been fun to see her grow socially. She loves her daddy and her face lights up when he walks in the door at the end of the day.

1 year old today. My how the time flies.

JD’s birthday

Happy Birthday Daddy!! Love you! :)

We celebrated yesterday with Grandpa, Grandma & Uncle Christian. Everyone had pizza and mud pie, but I just had baby food. Then tonight, Grandpa & Grandma babysat me while Daddy & Mommy went out to dinner. I had baby food again. But I had a really fun time playing! I’m taking 1-3 steps on my own and am so pleased with myself. I might be walking by my 1st birthday!
