Mary Poppins

Alison is a huge fan of Mary Poppins! This morning she kept requesting I sing songs from the movie. So, of course, I made good use of my handy-dandy laptop and found lyrics online. Everything is a song to this girl! She loves to narrate by song what she’s doing. It’s so sweet and I love how happy her heart is. :)

It was a beautiful morning for a brisk walk, donuts for breakfast and playtime at the park. This was all before 9am! Check out our garage sale find from last summer… $50 double stroller!

Off to spend the night with Papa & Nonna!

Alison has a cold

I noticed it yesterday, but it didn’t completely register until she woke up all sneezy and drippy this morning. She’s in surprisingly good spirits, considering. We had a ton of focused play time this morning - train tracks, puzzles, etc. She also likes to line up all her DVD’s for some reason. :) Giving her some extra attention when she’s sick helps her stay focused and patient. I’m hoping she takes a good nap this afternoon.

This morning I baked some artisan bread and showed her how to tell if bread is fresh. I squeezed the bread so we could hear it crack. She thought that was funny! We smelled the bread and she wanted to taste it, but it was too hot. Being with my girl in the kitchen is so much fun!

This morning we went to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Woodburn with our friends - Ethan, Stacie and Evaleena. There are over 40 acres of tulips and daffodils! There is also a fun carnival with all sorts of activities for the kids. Alison and Evaleena were big fans of the giant slide, tire swing shaped like a horse, and the duck water race. Hannah had a nice nap in the front pack while we walked and played. We expected more sun, but the weather was actually perfect - overcast and 50 degrees.

Beach trip!

This weekend we went to Neskowin with Great-Grandpa and Great-Grandma Peters. It was Alison’s first time at the ocean. She loved it! We stayed at a big beach house, located on a large hill, overlooking the beach. The pathway to the beach was located across the street from our house - very convenient! The forecast said that the weather was supposed to be cold and rainy, but we surprisingly had plenty of sun-breaks and a lack of rain that we enjoyed. We took lots of walks and on Saturday, JD and I took Alison on a date. We drove to Tillamook, hoping to take a tour of the cheese factory. Unfortunately, it was closed for the weekend. Instead, we went out to lunch and drove along the coast for a few miles, stopping where ever we saw a good photo opt and/or a beach to play at. Ali fell asleep before we made it home - she was one tired girl! Later that evening, my grandparents and parents watched the girls so that JD and I could go out on a date. We had a wonderful weekend!
